ACCA TX Pass Rate

TX has the highest pass rate of the session-based Applied Skills papers, though that does not make it a soft paper.

55%

ACCA TX (Taxation (UK)) · June 2026 sitting, the most recent reported

The pass mark on every ACCA paper is 50% and it never moves. The pass rate is the percentage of candidates who reached it.

Previously F6. If you arrived here searching for the F6 pass rate, this is the right paper. ACCA renamed its exams in 2018 and F6 Taxation became TX. Note that tax rates change with each Finance Act, so old F6 material goes out of date faster than the code change.

ACCA reports pass rates for session-based papers at all four sittings, so TX has a figure for March, June, September and December each year.

Why TX's pass rate looks like this

TX has held in the low-to-mid 50s for several years, which puts it at the top of the session-based Applied Skills group. The paper rewards structured preparation because the computations follow a predictable shape once you know the pro formas.

What catches candidates out is precision rather than concept. Rates, thresholds and reliefs change with each Finance Act, and marks are lost on out-of-date figures and on the arithmetic detail of a computation whose method was correct.

TX is a session-based exam, so ACCA reports its pass rate at all four sittings. Check which Finance Act applies to your sitting before you start revising.

How TX compares

TX runs roughly 14 points above PM and 8 above AA. Among the session papers it is the most approachable, but it is also the one where using the wrong year's tax rates costs marks that felt earned.
