ACCA BT Pass Rate

BT has the highest pass rate of any ACCA paper. That reflects what it asks of you rather than a soft standard.

89%

ACCA BT (Business and Technology) · June 2026 sitting, the most recent reported

The pass mark on every ACCA paper is 50% and it never moves. The pass rate is the percentage of candidates who reached it.

Previously F1. If you arrived here searching for the F1 pass rate, this is the right paper. ACCA renamed its exams in 2018: F1 Accountant in Business became AB, and was later renamed again to BT Business and Technology. Older textbooks, forum threads and study notes still use the F1 code. The figures above are the same exam under its current name.

ACCA reports pass rates for on-demand papers at the June and December sittings only, so there is no separate March 2026 figure for BT.

Why BT's pass rate looks like this

BT is consistently the most-passed paper in the ACCA Qualification, and it has been for years. It is an entry-level paper testing breadth of understanding across business structure, governance, leadership and technology, rather than the applied technical work that follows at Applied Skills.

A high pass rate is not a reason to skip preparation. The syllabus is wide, the questions are objective-test format, and candidates who fail usually do so because they revised selectively across a broad syllabus rather than because the material was difficult.

Because BT is an on-demand computer-based exam, ACCA reports its pass rate only at the June and December sittings.

How BT compares

BT sits roughly 48 percentage points above PM, the hardest Applied Skills paper. If you find BT genuinely hard rather than merely broad, that is worth addressing before moving on, because the gap in demand between here and Applied Skills is substantial.
